Another great, informative and very funny show again never fails to entertain my family highlight of my day at Bath and west.
Good evening Sir,
I would just like to pass on my congratulations to an epic show that you
performed this afternoon at Morden Hall Park!
It was SO refreshing to see and hear the explanation of our dogs and how
they see us, rather than the other way round!
Keep up the good work and educate more of the general public as you go.
I had the enormous pleasure of watching this amazing man in action today at the New Forest Show… The NFS organisers should be ashamed of them selves… They gave centre stage in the main arena to a group of people that enjoy murdering innocent animals in the name of ‘sport’ whilst arguably the most informative, passionate, funny and educationally gifted man I’ve seen since the late great Steve Irwin gets tucked away down a side street…
And that is a comparison I do not use lightly…
For the second year in a row, Stuart attended the New Forest Show (Hampshire) to do not only The Sheep Show but also The Dog and Duck Show. Last year’s showing was so successful and popular that the show organisers invited him back.
I’m lucky to be allowed in the ring when he does his show and having seen it a few times, still amazes me. This year he had a new bitch named Bess (rescue dog) and had never been off the lead in public let alone in an arena.
An evening practice session saw a few of us watching Stuart letting her off the lead, and to our delight didn’t run off.
The ducks were then released and watched in amazement as she was herding them one way and then the other way without ever having done it before.
All the while she kept looking at Stuart and responded to his body language.
His show is great for all the family, describes and demonstrates body language and positivity. Some tips on how to curb problems arising in dogs such as how to overcome the dreaded bonfire nights and fireworks and how not to treat them as a bag accessory.
The interaction between himself and the animals is mesmerising and I never bore of it. I could watch all day if time allowed.
So when you see him at a show near to you, go and watch him in action. You won’t be disappointed.
I saw the Dog and Duck Show at Kent County Show, and of course was entertained, but beyond that Stuart’s commentary and demonstration gave a real insight into the dogs perspective. When you understand how wild dogs hunt you begin to understand much more about the way your own canine friend behaves. I think everyone with ambitions to own a dog should be taught the principles Stuart puts forward before obtaining their pet. It would lead to happier dogs, happier owners and less worry among those who are not into dogs
DEAR , STUART , I sent you a email soon after the BATH @ WEST show after reading your book , my wife is now reading it together we have been into dogs for some 57 years , my wife doe’snt want to finish the book as she is enjoying it so much , i do hope you continue to write such good books , many people no matter how much you try to help them as you say in your book you feel it is a waist of time , you win some you loose some !! , if only people would remember it is still a dog with its own instinct’s , i know of several people who bought there house but the dog owns it , keep up the good work, again i was very taken with your display a the show , showing what can be done even with a difficult dog i agree its your mental power over the dog . regards and many thanks ,
Saw the show today at the Cambridge Country show. The perfect mix of entertainment and education – between this and the sheep show, these are the best Country fare segments I have ever seen (I’ve seen my share!). Stuart, incredibly engaging and funny performance, you even managed to control the wild mob of kids who rushed into the ring! Great job.
Just wanted to say thanks for a great Sheep Show at Claremont Farm this weekend. My daughter really enjoyed it as did all the adults! I spoke to you really briefly afterwards and as promised I have bought your ebook. I’m 1/3 of the way in and my eyes are opening already. Thank you for making your experience and knowledge available to the public. It is going to be a great help to me and onward down to my dog.
Keep up the great work :o)
Very enjoyable show and performance at this weekend’s All About Dogs at Newbury.
Occasionally the ducks got the better of the dogs, but they shared the limelight well!
Absolutely adored the dogs and having the chance to meet them in between shows, and heard nothing but good remarks from others watching the show.
If I had to suggest one improvement: Perhaps there’s some way the children could take a more active part in the show, perhaps giving them handheld fences for the ducks to pass through???
